It’s hard to believe that twenty-five years have gone by since the beginning of my teaching career here at BVM. I graduated from Morse High here in San Diego. As a TIGER I learned the importance of dedication no matter what the goal is. Also, I learned about the importance of multicultural diversity, and how we are all connected in this life and should respect differences in people. I received my bachelor’s degree at San Diego State where I was required to play and demonstrate teaching ability in all sports. I did my post-Bachelor fifth year at National University where there was a great amount of teaching about organizational skills and classroom management. I have been blessed with my wife of 25 years, and 3 children. I know what it is like to have middle school children at home. I feel like my current 275 students and my past 6000 or so former students are like extended family. Middle school in my mind is like being in the middle of childhood, and adulthood. This is where I feel my calling is, to help students make good choices, live healthy, and become lifelong learners of the activities introduced to them here. Safety, Respect, and the California State Standards for Physical Education are my main priorities. My commitment to you is that I will give 100% effort as your child’s Physical Education teacher and always be willing to make changes when necessary to improve your child’s success here at BVM.
