As Winter approaches, we want to make certain that students are dressed both comfortably and appropriately when temperatures are colder than normal. A few things to consider:
1) Sweats and sweatshirts are allowed on cold days as determined by P.E. coaches. They are not required.
2) The coach’s office white board in both locker rooms will always state if the weather is cold enough for sweats. Students should look at the white board upon entering the locker room to see if sweats are allowed that day.
3) Sweats and sweatshirts must be blue or gray in color-no exceptions. Street clothes (like jean jackets, leather jackets, etc.) that are not appropriate for exercise will not be allowed. (This ensures the safety of all students and also discourages unauthorized students from accessing the P.E. area during class time).
4) Students wearing sweatshirts must still wear their gray P.E. shirt underneath their sweatshirt.
5) Sweats and sweatshirts may be brought from home, purchased independently, or purchased from the BVM ASB. Logos and other printing or embroidery is allowed as long as it is appropriate for school.
Questions? Contact your P.E. coach.

The documentary film “Super Size Me” follows director Morgan Spurlock as he eats McDonald’s food for 30 days straight. In the process we learn about the nature of obesity in the United States and the numerous connections made between food choices, weight gain, and resulting health conditions.

We had a fantastic 2013-2014 school year in the Physical Education Department at BVM and we want to offer a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who made it such a success!
STUDENTS: We appreciate your hard work and drive to improve. We enjoyed watching you grow and develop athletic skills and talents. We smiled when we saw you having fun and exercising at the same time. And we cheered for you when you ran farther, jumped higher, moved quicker, and pushed yourself harder than you thought you could.
PARENTS: Thank you for supporting our program, entrusting us with your children, and believing in the essential role of physical fitness in their lives.
Have an awesome (and active) summer break!
